This home had extensive water damage when the tenant left unexpectedly during the coldest part of the winter without filling the LP gas tank!  Without LP gas the furnace stopped working, resulting in all the pipes filled with water feeding the radiators throughout the home freezing.  Needless to say this caused extensive damage to the home by the time the homeowner became aware of the situation.  We were called in to do an extensive repair and remodel of this wonderful country home, filled with beautiful old woodwork and wooden floors.

Al the plaster was removed from the walls exposing the framing throughout the home.

Our approach was to work closely with the homeowner and the insurance company to create a plan that not only repaired all the damage, but that replaced the old radiator heating system with a modern and highly efficient forced air system.  The extent of the repairs necessary required that we totally gut the home to not only provide a way to run the air ducts, but also to totally upgrade the home’s electrical system.  Prior to our renovation, the electrical system consisted on a hodgepodge of wiring techniques spanning decades of changing electrical codes.  To make the home safe and ready for the next 100 years, we completely upgraded the electrical service and all the wiring throughout the home, bringing the home up to modern electrical code standards.

The kitchen suffered major damage from the flooding that occurred when the water system froze.  Working with the homeowner and the insurance company, we designed a new modern kitchen with new custom cabinets built by a skilled local cabinetmaker using the finest materials for door and drawer slides.
